Mucho más que una feria ganadera, al concentrar en Piedras Blancas actividades como un raid ecuestre, atracciones y puestos de feria, mercado con productos del campo, productos caseros, talleres y muestra de oficios tradicionales, tiro con gomero, desfile de carrozas y, como no, las verbenas. Castrillón ha sabido aunar en esta Feria muchos atractivos que congregan a muchos asturianos y visitantes a su capital para disfrutar de San Isidro.

More than just a livestock fair, San Isidro in Piedras Blancas offers a vibrant blend of events: equestrian raids, fairground rides, markets with local produce and homemade goods, craft workshops, and traditional trades. Es el festival con mayor tradición y solera que existe en Europa, y uno de los tres más importantes del mundo. Fue el primero en Asturias en realizar un maridaje lúdico-deportivo y aunque el origen y la esencia de esta fiesta es deportivo, es un momento ideal para disfrutar del surf y del espectacular entorno natural de Salinas. Conciertos, proyecciones, surf adaptado o talleres infantiles completan una fiesta que entronca desde su raíz con la notable tradición surfera y deportiva de Salinas y su playa, pioneras en la práctica del surf en el norte de España. Este festival es un claro ejemplo de cómo combinar el ver y practicar buen surf, con disfrutar a tope en un animado ambiente de Castrillón, sus gentes y visitantes.

This is the most historic and prestigious longboard festival in Europe, and one of the top three in the world. It was also the first festival in Asturias to combine sport with leisure in this way. Although its origins and essence are sporting, the festival is the perfect occasion to enjoy surfing and the stunning natural setting of Salinas. Concerts, film screenings, adaptive surfing, and children’s workshops round out a celebration rooted in Salinas’ strong surfing and sporting tradition. The beach and its surroundings, pioneers in the practice of surfing in northern Spain, come alive in this festival that perfectly blends the thrill of the waves with the lively, welcoming spirit of Castrillón, its people, and its visitors.
